Let's talk about the Jane Goodall organization 🦍
Today I want to talk a little bit more about the Jane Goodall Institute and why it is one of the few I support.
Ormiga Designs donates a 5% of its profits to different organizations, and the Jane Goodall Institute is one of them. Why? Well, because, like most of these organizations, it works tirelessly to create a better environment where animals and humans can coexist in Nature, and, of course, to save chimpanzees from extinction. At the turn of the 20th century there were an estimate of 1-2 million chimps living in the wild. Today there are less than 350,000. Why is it important to preserve these species that are shrinking? Well, because part of that is human actions, and we are all here together and animals have such an important role in the ecosystem and in keeping a balance with all that's in our planet.
Because my store is based in Toronto, Canada, my donations go to the Canadian branch of the JGI, but it's a global organization with branches all over the world.
To learn more about what they do and how you can help, visit the Canadian Branch or for the US Branch. For other branches, check out the list of offices globally here.
You can also follow them on IG, Twitter, and Facebook for updates and more information.
Thank you again, dear reader, for spending a few minutes of your day reading my post.
